What’s up dreamers! This week Chasing Big Dreams has the pleasure of hosting one of my dearest friends for a guest blog post.
Bethany Allen is an avid baker, Disney enthusiast, and lover of all things beauty. She has been blogging for three years now, and watching her blog grow has been a treat. Her blog “Summertime Sweety” features beauty tips, her Disney adventures, and her favorite cupcake recipes, along with other lifestyle posts. I hope you enjoy hearing from her this week! I’ll leave all of her links at the end of this post.
DIY Gingerbread Cookie Whipped Body Scrub
Ingredients:
½ cup Brown Sugar
½ cup White Sugar
½ cup Coconut Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Nutmeg
½ tsp Ground Ginger
½ tsp All Spice
Directions:
If your coconut oil has solidified or separated, cover and place in the microwave to warm for about 20 seconds before measuring out
Combine brown sugar, white sugar, and coconut oil in a mixer and beat until fluffy!
Add in vanilla and spices, making sure to scrape down the sides
Beat on low until spices are mixed in, and then increase to medium speed and beat for 30 seconds until light and fluffy again!
Transfer to a jar and seal with a lid.
If you want, you can add a teaspoon of honey to better hold in moisture on your skin, as well as for it’s antibacterial properties.
To package, spoon or pipe into a cute little jar and seal tightly to preserve as long as possible! If you want to cute it up you can add a few sprinkles to the top to really give off that cookie vibe. For the outside of the jar you can add a strip of wash tape around the rim, or add a bow!
As the mixture cools, the coconut oil will begin to re-solidify, this is completely normal! To use, spoon or scrape out a teaspoon to a tablespoon sized amount and massage into your skin in a circular motion. Enjoy!
